WhatsappWhen Germany attacked Belgium and France in World War I, they claimed that it was French aggression that led to their attack. When Germany attacked Poland and Russia in World War II, they claimed that they needed living space. When Vladimir Putin attacked Ukraine, he claimed that it was because of Ukraine’s aggression and theft of land in the Crimea from Russia. It is a pattern that all aggressors always use excuses for attacking their enemies.
But it is not merely the attackers who use excuses. It is their sympathizers in the West who excuse or even support their actions. In World War II, Joseph Kennedy, the United States Ambassador to England, was rightfully accused of abetting and perhaps even supporting German aggression. Not only did he oppose United States involvement in the war – he supported an attitude of neutrality. Meaning, the United States should not say that one side is just and one side was evil. Winston Churchill was absolutely right for despising the US Ambassador.
Perhaps one of the greatest praises for John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy should be that they both (in different ways) rejected their father’s terrible moral compass on matters relating to foreign policy. Today, there are members of Congress and masses of anti-Israel protesters in the West who think that Israel deserved to be attacked, their women deserved to be raped, and their babies burned. Why? Because, they claim Israel is a colonial aggressor. Get that? Colonial aggression justifies rape and killing babies.
Aside from the simple fact that one cannot be a colonialist on their own land, the logic of the Hamas supporters is similar to the logic of those who supported Germany in World War II. There is no genuine reason to be surprised. Those who hate Jews have always existed in a massive way, in all cultures, all over the world. But today, there are more and more people in the West who have no compunction whatsoever to state boldly that Israel is evil and should be destroyed.
Those who have no problem broadcasting their hatred of Israel will have no problem supporting hatred of Jews in the United States, including attacks on Jews. As long as the hatred continues to grow, the threat to Jews in the West will continue to grow. Despite all of the wonderful history of Jews in the United States, the trends are more than troubling. There is no logical reason to assume that things will improve in the near future as long as the voices against Israel continue to get louder and louder. Thank the Lord for Ben Shapiro who’s razor sharp logic sweeps away lies in a matter of seconds. The Western world urgently needs another ten Ben Shapiros.
