WhatsappEven though Stefanik ultimately did not become the United States Ambassador to the UN, her speech defined exactly the policy of the United States towards the UN. Thankfully, what she said has become reality. The United States is no longer funding the terrorist group Hamas via funneled funds via the UNRWA fake human rights shield. Instead, the UNRWA is becoming defunded and dying a fast death.
The UNRWA has been an anti-Israel dinosaur for decades, created in order to solve a problem that was created by the Arabs who invaded Israel and tried to destroy the Jewish State even before the first day of its creation in 1948. Arab refugees lived under Jordan and Egypt between 1948-1967. No pressure whatsoever was placed on them to create a distinct Arab state for them. Nobody described these areas as “palestine.”
There was a new, barely surviving State of Israel, with 5 Arab neighbors that all had a ceasefire with them – not a peace treaty. Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt all planned to regroup and destroy the State of Israel at their next chance. Jordan and Egypt made it a point to keep the Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza in refugee camps in order that they would serve as ticking bombs on Israel’s border. The UNRWA cared far less about the welfare of these Arabs and far more about assisting in weakening the State of Israel.
Following the Six Day War when the failed Arab attack led to Israel taking the areas of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, the Arabs in these refugee camps and cities became part of the State of Israel, but not citizens. The UNRWA has steadily worked hand in hand to battle against the State of Israel. In this war, every UNRWA school and facility was found to have terror tunnels beneath it. The mask has been pulled off. Donald Trump’s policy has been exactly right – stop funding terror. That is absolutely insane.
