WhatsappTel-Aviv is NOT Israel’s capital. However, it is definitely the capital of Israel’s hi-tech sector. But there are other aspects of Tel-Aviv that are not as well-known.
The days of Israel advertising it’s beaches in Tel-Aviv are gone. People come to Israel for holiness, hi-tech, and now for vegan treats. Tel-Aviv is filled with vegans. But there is a major problem in Tel-Aviv. Most of the restaurants in Tel-Aviv are not kosher. Meaning, they do not adhere to Jewish law.
This should not be a surprise as most things in Tel-Aviv do not adhere to Jewish law. It is a city that is very secular and different than most of Israel.
This has not always been the case. Tel-Aviv used to have a large religious population, but in the 70’s and 80’s, nearly all religious Jews vacated the city. But today, there is a rebirth of interest in things Jewish – in the heart of vegan Tel-Aviv. This should not come as a surprise. People who are inclined to veganism are inclined to natural things. There is nothing more natural for a Jew than to be religiously observant. One day, Tel-Aviv will be a city that will be known for it’s religious observance also.
