With all of the noise surrounding the current ceasefire negotiations in Doha, Israel’s positions reveal that the IDF is not planning on a breakthrough any time soon.
The vaunted 98th Division continues to press deeper into Gaza’s Khan Yunis making gains.
It was reported that the 98th killed several gunmen and located weaponry in the past day. In Khan Younis, the military says that fighter jets struck several targets in an area from which rockets were fired at the border community of Nirim on Friday, and rocket launchers primed for an attack on Israel.
Further south, in Rafah, the announced the 162nd Division killed several gunmen, located weapons, and directed strikes on sites used by terror groups in the past day.
The IDF continues to expand its control over Rafah, most importantly the Philadelphi Corridor. Netzarim is being more and more locked into Israeli control. The idea that Israel will simply up and leave for a ceasefire deal that brings hardly anyone home – is unlikely. With Biden pressing - does Bibi have a way out?
