The hard left, backed by foreign money have been running a campaign of sedition against the duly elected Prime Minister since October 7th (and probably before). The hostage crisis while horrible and painful for everyone in Israel, should have never become the center and focus of the war. Wiping out the Jihadist armies surrounding Israel should be the only focus.
Since the murder of the six hostages whose bodies were found in a tunnel in Rafah, there have been wide spread calls on the left and in the leftist media to blame Prime Minister Netanyahu. The hope on their part is that he will capitulate and remove the IDF from all of Gaza in order to facilitate the return of the remaining hostages.
The Prime Minister does not seem ready to cave. On the contrary, he has called his Defense Minister out on Gallant’s constant need to undermine the government. Sources say that the last Security Cabinet meeting Gallant was called to task for his insistence to pull the IDF from the Philadelphi Corridor by the Prime Minister. When Gallant touted his security credentials, Netanyahu responded to the Defense Minister by saying: “I have been injured trying to free hostages. What you are proposing is to withdraw from Philadelphia. They will take the abductees from the [Gaza] Strip to Sinai and then to Iran. The United States agreed, so why are you against it?”
With the Left trying to burn down the country, undermine the war effort, and topple his government, what is the Prime Minister’s next steps?
Instead of caving in, Netanyahu has called for revenge and a plan presented in 24 to 48 hours that will exact a heavy price on Hamas’ leadership.
Some are speculating that he may try to assassinate Khaled Mashal, one of the political leaders of Hamas or even try to go in for the kill against Sinwar despite the probability he is surrounded by hostages. The war is clearly going in Israel’s favor, but Bibi can no longer wait to end this stage of it.
With his internal enemies threatening to tear the country apart, and Hezbollah continuing to wreck havoc in the North, real revenge against the Nazi Jihadists running Hamas may be the only way to end the war in Gaza and prepare for the next stage of the conflict against Hezbollah.
The next two week’s are critical for sending a death blow to Hamas, establishing permanent control over the Gaza Strip and refocusing the war to the North. The Prime Minister appears to be willing to push forward despite his internal enemies closing in to take him down.
