Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel will withdraw from five military posts in southern Lebanon if the Lebanese Armed Forces effectively implement Hezbollah’s disarmament.
The Prime Minister’s Office praised the Lebanese government’s decision, led by President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam, to disarm Hezbollah by the end of 2025, calling it a pivotal step toward restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty and strengthening its state institutions.

Israel expressed readiness to support Lebanon in disarming Hezbollah and fostering a secure, stable future for both nations. The PMO stated that if the Lebanese Armed Forces take concrete steps to disarm Hezbollah, Israel will respond with a phased reduction of its military presence, coordinated with the US-led security mechanism.
