Whatsapp“The only endless war is the war against Israel.” Exactly right. The issue at hand is not whether or not the United States will become embroiled in an endless war. It is Israel that has no choice but it is surrounded by implacable enemies that refuse to accept her very existence who are fighting an endless war against her. And Israel is simply not going to go away, not going to turn the other cheek, and not going to cower in response to the threats facing her. That stage of Jewish existence ended in 1948.
The Israeli population has shown itself to be made of steel. Millions of Israeli civilians are forced to hide and run into shelters in response to the genocidal bombing of Hamas, Hizbullah, the Houtis in Yemen, and most of all, the Iranians. But that is all in order to ensure that the Israeli Army can respond and destroy the enemy threats. Any attempt to create any kind of equivalence between the responders to terrorism and those who commit terrorism is akin to saying that the police have a problem of using violence. Yes, it is true that perhaps 1- 2% of the police in nearly any place take things a bit too far. But police violence is not the problem in 99% of the situations. The problem is the criminals that the police are forced to use violence against in order to protect the peace.
The police do not rape women – they protect them. The police do not kill children – they protect children. But sometimes the police are forced to violently take children out of the hands of a violent situation wherein the children are in danger. That is the situation wherein Israel finds itself – but in a far more complex way. Israel is a country wherein the Jewish population cares more about the Arab children of Hamas than the Arab terrorists do. Any sick terrorist who builds a terror tunnel underneath their child’s bedroom, under their family’s hospital, or under their child’s school has lost the right to live in that house, to function as a hospital or function as a school. And yes, this goes for the mothers who also curse Israel, and pray for their terrorist husband to succeed.
Any land around Israel that is used as a platform for terror should be taken by Israel, freed of the terror network that lives in it, razed to the ground, including the tunnels underneath it, and then rebuilt from scratch. That is the proper response necessary for all of Gaza and the northern border until the Litani River. With Iran, Israel must simply make sure with other countries who are all threatened by Iran to make sure that Iran’s economy continues to falter until the country simply rots from the inside like Cuba did.
Iran is too far away for Israel to combat via anything but it’s Air Force. But Iran’s threats are too great to ignore and make believe that somehow the ballistic missile threat and nuclear threats from Iran will evaporate. They will not. Only force and continuous crippling economic sanctions will succeed in bringing down the Iranian regime.
