Despite winning the war, Israel’s position in the US Congress continues to deteriorate and that is impacting how the rest of America views the only Jewish State.

In a Friday interview with the Daily Caller, excerpts of which were published Monday, former US President Donald Trump acknowledged a rising skepticism toward Israel among younger Republicans and expressed concern over Israel’s declining influence in Congress.

Citing a March Pew Research Center poll, Daily Caller reporter Reagan Reese highlighted that 50% of Republicans under 50 now view Israel unfavorably, compared to 35% in 2022.

Trump responded, “Yeah, I’m aware of it. Israel is amazing… Nobody has done more for Israel than I have.”

He emphasized his administration’s actions against Iran and his strong support for Israel, while expressing surprise at the weakening of Israel’s lobbying power: “Israel had the strongest lobby in Congress… Today, it’s not as strong. It’s surprising.”

Trump attributed this shift to progressive congressional voices, stating, “You have AOC and the others, these radicals… They’ve changed things,” referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and members of “The Squad,” known for their critical stance on Israel.

But the reality is that both right and left are now engaging in increased anti-Israel rhetoric and not matter how much anyone points out that countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia have far more influence than Israel, no one seems to care about them.

Can President Trump give Israel the leeway it needs to ensure it is strong enough, whether or not America is on its side? So far, he has helped Israel in securing its win over the Jewish State’s enemies, and some say he is in favor of annexing Judea and Samaria. Regardless, Israel has limited time to make gains and secure itself while Trump is still in office, because afterwards it will start to get rocky.
