Simultaneous fires sprung up in heavily Jewish areas at the same time as Israel’s Memorial Day set in. Due to the strange timing of the fires and evidence that a group of individuals had lit the fires, calls had already gone out by midday that arson was the most likely cause. Sure enough the police caught a group of arsons and the ISA has started interrogating them.
Shortly after the fires began, Arab accounts across social media platforms called for Arabs in Israel to light more fires. It has been noted that not one fire occurred in an Arab area and the social media content pushing for more fires appears to have been professionally put together.
Arabs Use Asymmetrical Warfare To Attack Israel
The fires raging across the Jewish areas of Israel are part of a broader strategy employed by Hamas and their Jihadist followers called asymmetrical warfare. From using hospitals and schools to lighting forest fires and video propaganda in Gaza, Hamas employs abhorrent tactics to achieve their aims. Israel has yet to devise a plan on how best to go about contesting these sorts of things – mainly because Israel, like other modern countries functions in a way that hampers their response.
While the fires are coming under control, Israel must come to its senses and realize there is a huge population that supports Hamas and willing to use alternative means to destroy the Jewish State. Until it does, Hamas and its supporters swill continue to catch Israel off guard - draining it further of the energy it needs to fight its enemies on multiple fronts.
