You Won’t Believe Where David Ben-Gurion Lived

It’s pretty cool to see where David Ben-Gurion, one of Israel’s most well-known and influential leaders, lived.

David Ben-Gurion and His Humble Abode

David Ben-Gurion was Israel’s first prime minister. He declared Israel’s independence on May 14, 1948, or the 5th of the Hebrew month of Iyar 5708. That moment was one of the greatest moments in Jewish history.

It’s amazing to see that a man who changed the course of history for Israel and the Jewish people lived in a small, humble house. Possessions were not important to him. Knowledge was. The state of Israel was. The Jewish people and their future mattered to him. If David Ben-Gurion was still alive today, he would most likely be in complete awe at how the state of Israel has grown. He would be shocked to know how many Jews today have chosen to make the Jewish homeland their permanent home.

Although not everyone agrees with his political views and some of his decisions, it’s impossible to ignore the good that he did for the Jewish people at the time and the building blocks he set for the Jewish people for eternity.

Ben-Gurion famously said, “In Israel, in order to be a realist, you must believe in miracles.” How true that is. To take it a step further, you must believe in G-d, Who performs those miracles. There is no way to explain Israel’s existence without G-d. The miracles that have taken place are loud and clear. May G-d continue to perform miracles for Israel and the Jewish people!
