Who really is running the US foreign policy show

Ric Grenell argues that Joe Biden is basically not running the show as far as foreign policy. He is simply too out of it. So who is running the foreign policy. Grenell argues that it is Susan Rice, who is basically holding exactly where Barack Obama is as far as Iran and other hot button issues. But what we need to understand is that Kamala Harris may be in charge of the United States foreign policy in a matter of months.

The Democrat party has not built up a strong bench to fill major roles. There are basically ex-Obama politicians and Kamala Harris who are filling most of the roles. Antony Blinken has not made a strong statement on nearly any issue thus far and Joe Biden has basically not engaged with most of the world leaders outside of a ceremonial first phone call. By this point in the Obama administration, Barack Obama had been making major pronouncements about making a transformation in the world. Donald Trump had already scared the world about his willingness to use major weaponry if needed to calm down hot spots. But Biden just seems to not really have a clue.

This shouldn’t be a surprise. We need to get prepared for a Kamala Harris led country. It is coming – perhaps sooner than we realize. Harry S. Truman was shocked that he became President so soon after the 1944 election. The world was in major turmoil, and he very quickly proved up to the task of making major decisions. He made some major missteps in his misunderstanding of the ruthlessness of Stalin, but he made one excellent decision after another. This was probably due to his sterling character, deep faith, and experience fighting in World War I. Does Kamala Harris have anything in her past experience or character that will allow her to thrive in the Oval Office? Doubtful. She probably will have Susan Rice and Barack Obama coaching her, so she won’t be alone. The problem is that the Obama policies did not advance American foreign policy. They brought us backward.
