Israel’s top military commander is openly signaling that the campaign against Iran is far from over.

During a visit to southern Lebanon, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir revealed that the Israeli military already has “a further series of targets” prepared inside Iran should fighting resume.

The remarks are among the clearest indications yet that Israel is actively preparing for another large-scale strike campaign against the Iranian regime — and that coordination with Washington remains ongoing behind the scenes.

“Cooperation with the United States military and coordination continue at all times, and we are monitoring the situation,” Zamir said in comments released by the IDF.

He added that Israel remains on “high alert” and prepared to return to “an intense and broad campaign” designed to deepen Israeli gains and further weaken Iran’s military infrastructure and strategic capabilities.

The statement comes amid growing regional tension and continued Israeli operations against Iranian proxies across the Middle East.

Speaking directly to troops operating in the Khiam area of southern Lebanon, Zamir also delivered an unusually aggressive operational message, telling commanders that “all IDF capabilities are at your disposal,” and emphasizing that forces face “no limitation in the use of force” in carrying out missions against Hezbollah threats.

The comments underscore how Israeli military leadership increasingly views the Lebanese front and the Iranian front as part of the same war.

Zamir also disclosed new figures regarding Hezbollah losses since the broader regional escalation began, claiming that more than 2,000 Hezbollah operatives have been killed in Lebanon since the start of the Iran conflict.

“We will seize every opportunity to deepen the blow to Hezbollah and its continued weakening,” he said.

The message coming out of the IDF is becoming harder to ignore: Israel is not treating the recent confrontation with Iran as a one-off exchange. Military planners appear to be preparing for a prolonged campaign — one that could rapidly expand again if Tehran miscalculates or if Hezbollah significantly escalates attacks from Lebanon.

Behind the scenes, Israeli officials increasingly believe that sustained pressure on both Iran and Hezbollah is reshaping the strategic balance across the region.
