When Donald Trump contracted the coronavirus, the attitude of nearly all liberal outlets was unanimous. Donald Trump’s flippant attitude towards the coronavirus was accused as the cause for Donald Trump and much of his staff catching the contagious virus. Trump’s refusal to mask up was spoken about endlessly in order to do anything to discredit the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus.
On the contrary, Joe Biden, who is older and probably more at risk from the coronavirus, has been handled, as usual with kid gloves. Why the hypocrisy? It’s very simple. The liberal media hated and still hates Donald Trump and supports anyone – yes, anyone but Donald Trump – at the helm.
When the eventual successors to the leadership of the Republican Party emerge, it will be interesting to see how the liberal media attempts to label them as the continuation of Donald Trump. Ron DeSantis will probably be called Donald Trump’s successor thousands of times. But he will probably take the Glenn Youngkin strategy of focusing on policy and avoiding the personal side of politics.
But others will have a harder time doing this. The name Trump will resonate across progressive air waves for decades to come. But it will not succeed. The American public has seen that a Democrat President who is largely managed by Barack Obama and Obama administration officials can undo the positive economic policies of the Trump administration in just 1-2 years.
It’s the economy, stupid. The midterm elections of 2022 will probably be a watershed moment in US political history, much like the 1994 midterm elections.
