Shortly after the election results made it pretty clear there would be a rightwing government, Hamas decided to fire off a rocket at Israel, something they haven’t done in a while.
The response from Israel was swift. The IDF attacked by air a Hamas weapons manufacturing depot.
In response to the rockets launched from Gaza into Israel tonight, we targeted a Hamas underground site in Gaza used as a rocket development & manufacturing complex.
This rocket attack by Hamas on Israel was the first attack in months from the Gaza Strip. The swift reaction kept Hamas from expanding the rocket attacks. Besides that, it shows that Israel’s government is willing to remain neutral as the hand off begins soon.
With more tests expected to occur after the government is sworn in – expect some wild weeks ahead.
