It is impossible not to get the chills when watching this moment in Jewish history unfold. G-d’s hand is so clear!
A Miraculous Moment in Jewish History
There have been many miracles throughout Jewish history. But for some of those moments in Jewish history, those who don’t believe in G-d like to explain the unfolding of events through “nature.” Although G-d fearing people know that even nature is G-d, some people still use natural means to explain certain situations.
When it comes to the day that the Jewish people recaptured Jerusalem after thousands of years of not having the Temple Mount, there is just no other way to explain it than by admitting that G-d performed the most unbelievable miracles for His people. It just does not make sense militarily or politically. It shouldn’t have happened if you want to speak in terms of “natural.”
And yet, it did happen. G-d decreed it. He made it happen. Israel was outnumbered. The Jewish people should not have won the Six Day War nor should they have gotten their holy city back. But again, they did.
We must thank G-d on Jerusalem Day and everyday for giving us the key back to the holiest city in the world, to HIS holy city. We must thank Him for bringing us one step closer to the final redemption, to the day when He will allow us to rebuild His Temple and serve Him in the holiest city, on the holiest spot – the Temple Mount.
