The Kuwaiti Journalist Who Stands For Peace With Israel
Jasem Aljuraid stands against radical Islam. He advocates for peace with Israel. And where he comes from, that is most definitely not a given. In fact, it’s nearly impossible—as you heard what happened to him for having his beliefs. If you’re a Kuwaiti journalist who promotes peace with the Jewish state, you are no longer welcome in the world you grew up in. But Jasem Aljuraid still chose to defend what’s right despite the consequences.
For most of us, it’s significantly easier to defend Israel and the Jewish people. In some circles, there may be some backlash. It still takes courage. But most of us are not being exiled from our countries for holding certain beliefs. It’s truly incredible what Aljuraid has done. The path he chose is not simple. And yet, he still doesn’t regret it.
Despite the difficulties he has encountered, Jasem has chosen the right path. If someone chooses to stand with G-d’s people and defend the truth, that is always the right path. We can all learn from this brave Kuwaiti journalist to be a little more courageous and a little more vocal about standing up for the truth. Even if it initially feels difficult, it will always be worth it in the end. G-d wants us to do what is right and what is moral.
