THE IRAN WAR. HOW DID WE GET HERE…

In 2005, I protested for months in the streets of Israel with hundreds of thousands of proud Jews, of all ages, from all over the country, including whole families, pleading with our government not to hand over Gaza to our Islamonaz*i enemy, regardless if was the Palestinian Authority or Hamas.

We warned that expelling close to 10,000 Jews from their homes and destroying 21 vibrant Jewish communities in Gaza would not bring peace. Rather, it was surrender and would appease the appetite of our jihadi enemies.

We saw clearly what many refused to see: that ripping Jews from their homes and turning over territory to jihadists would not bring quiet—it would bring more terror, more death, more war. And we were right.

I was there. I protested. I documented. I produced a movie about it called “Home Game” (link in the comment). I tried to wake up whoever I could.

Before Ariel Sharon came to power in the 2003 elections, the Labor party, led at the time by Avram Mitzna, openly campaigned on a platform of unilateral disengagement from Gaza—promising peace through withdrawal. In contrast, Likud leader Ariel Sharon was elected on a platform that explicitly rejected that approach, declaring that all of Gaza was as much a part of Israel as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and that he would never uproot Jews from their homes in Gaza.

Yet once Ariel Sharon was in power, with the backing of the media, security elites, and a weaponized justice system that ultimately blackmailed Sharon, pushed forward with their suicidal delusion of disengaging from Gaza.

“Unilateral withdrawal is strength,” they insisted. Those who were against it, like myself, were called “enemies of peace”. And they used every tool at their disposal to silence and delegitimize those of us who dared to raise the alarm.

Now, two decades later, our entire country is paying the price. And the younger generation of Israelis must finally confront this painful truth: The 2005 Gaza disengagement wasn’t just a strategic mistake, it was a moral and historic failure. One that empowered the most dangerous Islamic enemy the Jewish people have faced in 1,400 years.

When we gave away Gaza, we handed Iran a golden key to our Southern doorstep.

The Gaza disengagement created a launching pad for the Islamic Republic of Iran via Hamas, an Iranian-backed proxy with genocidal intentions.

The same Islamic regime in Tehran that planned for years to wipe Israel off the map saw our internal divisions and weakness and seized the opportunity.

Gaza became Iran’s southern front. Lebanon, via Hezbollah, was already its northern front, thanks to the dangerous delusion of the political camp of former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who unilaterally pulled the IDF out of southern Lebanon in 2000.

That reckless withdrawal not only handed Iran and Hezbollah a strategic victory, it handed our Northern doorstep to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It was the disastrous precedent that directly led to the Gaza disengagement of 2005.

Syria was then transformed into the transfer zone between Iran and her proxy Hezbollah. Iraq and Yemen soon followed. Piece by piece, Iran assembled a ring of fire, as they called it, around Israel.

And Israel, guided by the delusion of a “new Middle East” based on Jewish appeasement, and surrender of our lands earned with much Jewish blood in defensive wars, from our own politicians, coupled with Western pressure, let it all happen.

Israel’s political and security elites kept minimizing the danger of our enemy.

They poured endless resources into appeasement and turning our senior army and intelligence commanders into “conflict managers”, while Iran built its empire of terror right under our noses, including in Judea and Samaria.

Instead of rooting out the cancer, we let it grow.

And every time we gave up land, every time we restrained ourselves in the name of “international legitimacy,” and “international law”, our enemies grew bolder.

October 7th was the explosion of that failed ideology.

And yet, despite everything, God had mercy on us.

This war against Iran and it’s “ring of fire” proxies, should have looked very different.

It should have been all-out war on every front. Hamas from the south. Hezbollah from the north. Iran from afar. Tens of thousands of missiles also from Syria, Yemen and Iraq. A multi-pronged invasion that would have destroyed the Jewish state of Israel. That was Iran’s strategic plan developed over decades.

But that didn’t happen. Why?

Because of miracles.

Hamas attacked prematurely without coordinating with Iran. Hezbollah did not join in the invasion as planned, only with rockets. Iran also hesitated in joining directly in the attack, and only months later attacked us with rockets.

In the meantime, Israel began to take care of the threat from Gaza, and then transferred forces to stop the rocket attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon. And then the miraculous beeper operation that destroyed the whole senior command of Hezbollah.

Iran’s “ring of fire” was being demolished one fire at a time.

And America, just in time, got a new president, President Donald Trump, who opened the weapons pipeline, stopped by President Biden, and stood with us without equivocation with full support to win this war that we did not begin.

Assad’s regime in Syria then collapsed because we neutered Hezbollah.

None of this was planned by us.

We were caught off guard. We were broken. But the God of Israel was still guiding the story.

These are not coincidences. This is not luck. It’s Divine Providence.

And just as Yosef sat in a pit, betrayed and abandoned, while God was already preparing redemption behind the scenes, so too, Israel today is witnessing a process far beyond human calculation.

The nations plot, the analysts write, the diplomats lecture, but it is God who determines the outcome.

Still, there’s a lesson here we must internalize, especially the younger generation:

Peace will never come through surrender. Safety will never come through weakness. And the dream of a “New Middle East” that ignores the existence of a 1,400+ year Islamic jihadi ideology is a dangerous illusion.

A new Middle East is possible, but not with the jihadists, only with those who repudiate the jihadists.

For 1,400 years, this jihadi enemy has waged war against the Jewish people, not for borders, not for grievances, but because we represent the truth of God in this world. That’s what Hamas fights. That’s what the global Muslim Brotherhood movement is all about. That’s what Iran fears. And that’s why they will never stop, unless we stop them first.

Israel must never again give up land. Never again empower our enemies. Never again allow utopian delusions to override Jewish destiny and security.

Our safety comes only through strength, unity, and unwavering faith in our right to our Biblical, ancestral homeland, every inch of it.

We don’t need permission to live. We don’t need lectures from those who’ve failed their own civilizations. We need clarity, courage, and conviction.

And above all, we need to remember: God is with us, always, but especially when we stand proudly for His truth, His land, and His people.

And that is what leads us to the war with Iran today.

Our Air Force and amazing defense systems were prepared for Iran’s missile attacks, thanks to years of strategic planning.

Our Mossad intelligence agency had been planning for an eventual war with Iran for decades, thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Netanyahu.

And we have the backing today of the biggest Empire in the world to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, because, as US President Donald Trump has consistently said “there is no peace if Iran has a nuclear bomb”.

While we may never fully understand why events unfold as they do, whether good or bad, we are blessed with the clarity to see the roadmap that led us to this moment in a war we did not choose, but were forced to fight.

And one final thought…

For years, the world has been warning of an impending World War III, long before Donald Trump ever stepped back into the White House.

The assumption was always the same: that a massive global clash would erupt most probably between the global axis of evil, Russia, China, Iran and their allies, against the rest of the Western world.

I’m 110% sure that no one predicted what’s actually unfolding before our eyes.

It’s not a world war in the traditional sense. It’s Israel, long abandoned by Western allies, surrounded by Islamonaz*i enemies, waging a lonely and righteous battle against the Islamist Republic of Iran, abandoned by her allies.

While Russia is bogged down in a grinding war with Ukraine, and China is being economically restrained by a Trump-led America through a relentless trade war, it is Israel—tiny, resilient, unbreakable—that has been confronting the head of the snake, alone, in a world war that looks totally different than anyone could have imagined.

And in doing so, Israel is not just defending itself, but holding the line for the entire freedom-loving world.

Whether the USA, under President Trump, joins in this fight to deal the knockout blow to the Islamic regime of Iran and their nuclear military ambitions, is still yet to be determined.

Regardless, the Jewish state of Israel has already saved the world from something that was supposed to be much, much worse for the whole freedom-loving world.

Thank you Hashem.
