“Now we understand how the Holocaust happened.” That line of Melanie Phillips encapsulates nearly everything that is driving the entire State of Israel to an unprecedented sense of unity. That unity, in many people’s opinions is what is fueling much of the success of the State of Israel’s Israel Armed Forces. As Phillips points out, this is a regional war against Israel.
Israel is not at all just battling Hamas in its southwest. It is battling Hezbollah in Lebanon, missiles and unmanned aircraft from Yemen and Iraq, and ballistic missile attacks from Iran. But Israel has not only withstood the onslaught. It is taking apart the entire Hezbollah terrorist movement and reshaping the borders of Israel in order to ensure safety to its citizens – north and south. Meanwhile, Israel has been destroying most of the threat from Hamas and dismantling the entire terrorist infrastructure threatening more than half of Israel’s population.
But the final show in this massive war is yet to come. Israel will confront Iran. It will not turn the other cheek. And for many years to come, Israel will have a peaceful future as its enemies will think ten times before attacking. Iran will shrink from its major standing as an international exporter of terror. It will not be smooth in the short-term future in the Middle East, but the future of Israel is very bright.
