The fighting along Israel’s northern front intensified sharply over the past 24 hours as the Israel Defense Forces announced a wide wave of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure across southern Lebanon, while Israeli civilian authorities simultaneously tightened defensive restrictions for communities near the border.
According to the IDF Spokesperson, Israeli forces struck more than 70 Hezbollah targets using over 85 munitions in multiple areas throughout Lebanon. The most significant concentration of strikes reportedly took place in and around the coastal city of Tyre, where approximately 10 Hezbollah command centers, weapons depots, and operational infrastructure sites were targeted.
The military stated that the facilities were being used to coordinate and advance attacks against Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon as well as against Israeli civilians. Israeli officials continue to frame the ongoing campaign as part of a broader effort to dismantle Hezbollah’s operational capabilities near the border and prevent the group from reestablishing military infrastructure in contested sectors of southern Lebanon.
In parallel with the infrastructure strikes, the Israeli Air Force reportedly carried out targeted attacks against Hezbollah operatives traveling on motorcycles in areas where Israeli ground forces are currently active. Such motorcycle movements have frequently been associated with reconnaissance, weapons transport, and rapid battlefield coordination by Hezbollah operatives during previous rounds of fighting.
As military operations expanded, Israel’s Home Front Command announced updated civilian defense measures for northern communities beginning Tuesday morning. The confrontation-line region, along with the communities of Meron, Bar Yochai, Or HaGanuz, and Safsufa, will remain under partial activity restrictions.
Under the updated guidelines, outdoor gatherings will now be limited to 50 people while indoor gatherings will be capped at 200 participants, a significant reduction from the previous thresholds of 200 outdoors and 600 indoors. Educational activities will largely continue unchanged, except in specifically restricted localities outlined by the Home Front Command.
Israeli defense officials emphasized that ongoing assessments are continuing and warned that additional changes could be implemented depending on developments along the northern front.
