This morning, at least 18 terror operatives attacked an IDF encampment in Khan Younis, emerging from a tunnel and firing machine guns and RPGs as they approached, according to an updated IDF investigation. Some operatives breached the encampment, engaging in close-quarters combat with Kfir Brigade troops.
The IDF reported that troops and airstrikes killed 10 operatives, while eight escaped back into the tunnel. Three soldiers were injured, one seriously. The IDF is actively pursuing the remaining operatives.

IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin reported that troops identified over 15 terrorists emerging from a tunnel, who then fired on the forces, including with RPGs. During the ensuing battle at the encampment, the troops repelled the attackers, killing at least nine, with estimates of additional casualties.
Defrin noted that several terrorists entered a building occupied by IDF forces and were neutralized. An investigation into the incident is underway to draw necessary conclusions. Hamas has continuously tried to kidnap soldiers throughout the conflict. So far, all of their attempts have thankfully been unsuccessful.
