For the sake of reelection, the president is willing to endanger Israel and the world.
(JNS) On March 26, 2012, at a conference in South Korea, President Barack Obama, not realizing that his microphone was on, had a chat with then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Obama told Medvedev to tell returning President Vladimir Putin that Obama would have “more flexibility” to compromise on missile and nuclear defense issues if Medvedev and Putin gave him “space” until after the November 2012 presidential election.
In other words, Obama was ready to compromise America’s national security in exchange for help with his reelection; help from a foreign government that also happened to be an enemy of the United States. The irony and cynicism of Obama’s request could not be fully appreciated until after the thorough debunking of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax a decade or so later.
Just like Obama, President Joe Biden is ready, willing and able to sell out America’s national security interests and those of its allies, particularly Israel, in exchange for “space” from Iran until after the November 2024 election. While Biden has not publicly announced his offer to the ayatollah by inadvertently speaking into an open mike, his arrangements with the ayatollah could not be more transparent.
Earlier this week, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium has advanced to the point that it could be converted into weapons-grade enriched uranium in a matter of days. American officials agree that Iran has enough enriched uranium to fuel three nuclear weapons.
Alarmed by this development, France and Britain announced they would censure Iran at the IAEA’s member-state board meeting in early June. But rather than lining up with our NATO allies, the Biden administration is aligning itself with Iran and arguing against any such censure.
Biden is protecting Iran and easing its path to a nuclear weapon.
It is no coincidence that the White House is running interference for the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism shortly after the administration’s indirect meetings with Iran in Oman a few weeks ago. The talks in Oman were indirect because Iran refuses to meet directly with U.S. officials. That shows the level of respect and high regard in which the Ayatollah holds Joe Biden. It is called contempt.
The purpose of the Oman meetings was allegedly to discuss how to prevent the war in Gaza from escalating into a regional war. If the White House were paying attention, it would have realized that there is already a regional war and has been for months. Israel has been attacked again and again by Hamas from Gaza, Hezbollah from Lebanon, the Houthis from Yemen, Iran’s terrorist proxies in Iraq and a barrage of missiles and drones directly from Iran.
Each time Israel is attacked, the administration admonishes Israel to temper its response.
The real purpose of the Oman talks was to limit the likelihood of a direct confrontation between Iran and the United States. Once again, the administration is asleep at the wheel. Iran and its proxies have attacked American service members in Iraq and Syria more than 100 times since Oct. 7. There has never been a meaningful response to those attacks. Had the administration retaliated in kind directly against Iran, the attacks would have stopped long ago.
In any event, to buy quiet between the United States and Iran at least until the November election, it is obvious that Biden directed his team in Oman to promise not just to run interference for Iran to protect its nuclear program, but also to help Iran save Hamas. That explains why Biden publicly undermines every step Israel takes in Rafah as it attempts to eradicate Hamas and free the hostages still being held six months after Oct. 7.
This was an easy concession for Biden to make. He had already decided to save the perpetrators of the Oct. 7 massacre as a sop to the radical progressive wing of the Democratic Party. To Biden, saving Hamas from Israel is like giving away ice in winter.
Biden’s pact with the devil and his public admonishments and distancing from Israel have also led to some unforeseen consequences.
Just last week, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) “ordered” Israel to end its war of national survival and surrender to Hamas.
In theory, the ICJ’s “order” requiring Israel to surrender is mandatory under international law. However, the ICJ cannot enforce its directive. Israel is as likely to stop defending itself as Iran is to stop spreading terrorism around the globe and building nuclear weapons, China to end its genocide of the Uyghurs, Russia to withdraw from Ukraine or North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.
No member of the ICJ can possibly harbor the delusion that the ICJ’s order will end Israel’s war effort. The court’s true goal is to damage Israel’s reputation, weaken it geopolitically and give legitimacy to Jew-haters around the world who advocate for Israel’s destruction and the extermination of the Jewish people.
The same is true of the recent decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for “war crimes and crimes against humanity.” Of course, the ICC does not have the legal power or jurisdiction to issue such a ruling. Even if it did, no factual or legal basis exists on which to do so.
Like the ICJ’s decision, the ICC’s grotesque abuse of power is designed for the single purpose of damaging Israel’s international standing.
Finally, Spain, Ireland and Norway have decided to recognize the nonexistent “State of Palestine.” This is a “state” with no borders and no land. It has no government. The Palestinian Authority on which it is theoretically based has never recognized Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state in peace within an internationally recognized border. Recognition is merely a reward to the terrorists who perpetrated the single worst attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
None of these countries would ever take such a step if the Biden administration stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel. By turning his back on Israel and putting space between America and its most loyal ally, Biden has allowed these malevolent acts to fill the void.
Biden’s policies have shown that the damage he is prepared to inflict on America and its allies in the cause of his reelection can be surpassed only by the damage he will cause if he is reelected.
