Sadly, hundreds of thousands of Israelis are displaced by war. You have to see the strength of this community who came together to sing.

Displaced by War, United in Song

We are not just talking about a few families in Israel who have been forced to leave their homes because of the war. Between the southern and northern borders in Israel, hundreds of thousands of Israelis have been displaced by war. It’s painful and difficult to get through this time in Israel. Families just want to be united again with their loved ones and with their communities. No one wants their children, parents, or friends to have to fight on the front lines against vicious terrorist groups. Israelis truly wish we didn’t have to go to war, but we know that there is no choice if we ultimately want to live in peace without the constant threat of terrorists on our borders. We pray that the war ends soon with Israel’s victory.

Until then, people are doing what they can to stay strong. The members of the Shuva community from the Gaza area are currently scattered living in several places all across Israel. Most of them are in Kibbutz Almog near the Dead Sea. They were brought together to sing a song. If you notice, it is mostly all women because most of the men have been called up to serve in the IDF reserves.

Do you see how powerful this is? Do you see how much power these people have?

The song that was chosen for them to sing is a song called Shuva, about returning home, written by famous Israeli song writer Naomi Shemer. It’s extremely inspiring that the members of the community of Shuva are singing a song that represents the name of their community and what they are experiencing right now. They just want to return home and live in peace. Please Gd, may that day come soon!
