Many people are afraid to talk to homeless people. They are afraid to interact. Meir Kay is the opposite. He wants to do good, and he engages with those around him.
You don’t need to do something major to make someone’s day. Small acts of kindness make a big difference. Kay embraces the value in Judaism known as Chessed, kindness. There are many ways to do Chessed. Some acts of kindness are bigger than others. But everything counts. Everything matters. Every person is able to act kindly toward others. One person might only have a smile to give. One person might have a million dollars. But both are important.
At the end of the day, you want to be remembered for how kind you are. You want people to think about the good you did. We get caught up in so many things that don’t make a difference in the long run.
