The Dee Family
Before April 7, 2023, the Dee family was just a “regular” family living their lives in the holy land of Israel. But then they became well-known by the international world because of a horrific terror attack that killed Lucy, the mother, and Maia and Rina, two of the children. An Arab terrorist murdered these innocent, beautiful Jews in the Jordan Valley while they were driving to be with other family members for the Jewish holiday of Passover.
Those Jewish souls who were taken from us too soon were special. They cared about the Jewish community. They cared about making the world a better place. And Arab terrorists decided that they don’t want more good to be in the world. They want to rid the world of anything G-dly and holy.
This video that Rabbi Leo Dee shared with us is powerful. It’s a beautiful video anyway, but specifically because of the fact that Lucy, Maia, and Rina are no longer in this world, it is that much more meaningful. We get to see a taste of their personalities and what they believed in before they were brutally taken from us.
The common factor between all of their answers to the question “what does it mean to you to be a Jew” is that they all were givers and wanted to spread good in the world. They wanted to help others and make others happy. Let’s all try to be a little more giving in memory of Lucy, Maia, and Rina Dee.
