The actor was one of many celebrities participating in a campaign to bring attention to the plight of the hostages kidnapped on Oct. 7.

(JNS) Jason Alexander, famous for his role in the sitcom “Seinfeld,” joined in calling for the immediate release of the captives who have been held by the Hamas terrorist group in the Gaza Strip for 44 days.

Alexander held up a picture of Ohad Munder-Zichri in a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday. “This is Ohad. He’s nine. In fact, he celebrated his ninth birthday days ago as a hostage of Hamas. Today, I will be his voice,” he said.

Alexander described Ohad as someone who gets along with everyone, enjoys helping his soccer coach and is good at solving Rubik’s Cube puzzles.

“On behalf of Ohad, I am asking, please, please set him free now,” the actor said.

Alexander’s plea for Ohad, posted by the Embassy of Israel in the U.S., is part of a campaign that began on Saturday evening by artists from Israel and elsewhere on behalf of the hostages.

Among the many Israeli artists participating are dancer Anna Aronov, musicians Meli Levi and Ivri Lider, and actors Shlomo Bar-Aba, Tomer Capone, Sasson Gabai, Daniel Gal, Mark Ivanir, Amos Tamam and Alma Zak.

The campaign is the initiative of Maayan Arzi-Mlinarski, CEO of Shavot, an organization that helps girls strengthen their sense of self-worth.

Hamas invaded Israel on Oct. 7, killing 1,200 persons, mostly civilians, including 350 young party-goers at a music festival. They wounded at least 7,667 others. The terrorist group took around 240 hostages to the Gaza Strip, including nationals of 26 different countries.
