WhatsappWhile Prime Minister Lapid has verbally supported Ukraine against Russia, the actual measure of his support has only been humanitarian aid and the taking in some refugees.
So why, with all of Lapid’s verbal support has Israel not done more? This question has become far more important now that Iran is actively teaming up with Russia against Ukraine
The answer is self preservation.
The entire security establishment in Israel is against arms for Ukraine, because they know that the moment Israel agrees to give arms to Ukraine, Russia will begin arming Israel’s enemies that surround it. From Syria, to Hezbollah, to the Houthis, to Iran, Russia would give them weapons that would be used on the Jewish State. This would cataclysmic to Israel.
Its for this reason that Israel has thus far refrained from arming Ukraine.
