Jenin continues to be a hotbed of Arab terrorism and violence. The IDF has been active in the terror center for months, but Wednesday morning’s operation broke new ground as it was during daylight hours.

According to a spokesman from the Border Police, the Israel Defense Forces soldiers sought to arrest Abd al-Rahman Hazem, the brother of a terrorist who carried out a deadly shooting attack in Tel Aviv earlier this year, and Muhammed Alownah.

The two were located in Jenin and after a fierce gun battle – both were eliminated along with a Palestinian Authority policeman. There were no casualties inflicted on the IDF force.

Terror attacks emanating from Arab occupied areas in Judea and Samaria have been on the rise. Both groups backed by Iran as well as the breakdown in the Palestinian Authority’s governance has lead to increased security chaos. The IDF has taken a proactive and preventative approach to tackling the terror surge.
