Dee Children Hear Their Late Mother’s Heartbeat
Lucy Dee and two of her daughters, Rina and Maia, were murdered by a Muslim terrorist when they were driving during the Passover holiday on April 7, 2023. Rina and Maia were pronounced dead on the scene, but Lucy fought for her life a little more and was transferred to a hospital. Tragically, she passed away as well a few days later.
Lucy Dee was an organ donor. She saved the lives of five people with her organs. What a unique and special family the Dee family is.
There are no words – for the emotion, the heartbreak, the love. The tragedy and loss of life alongside the hope and rebuilding of life. There are no words for this scene of watching the remaining daughters of Lucy Dee, Keren and Tali, listen to their mother’s heartbeat inside Lital Valenci, the woman she saved. Their brother Yehuda and father Rabbi Leo Dee were also there.
Our enemies won’t break us. They might try to hurt us, but they will never succeed in destroying us. Despite all the pain, the Jewish people will keep moving forward. Even with the loss, there was continued life through the organs of Lucy Dee. It is truly remarkable. It is heartbreaking and inspiring.
