Will the “garbage” label applied by Joe Biden make a major difference in the 2024 election? Did Hillary Clinton’s “deplorables” label make a major difference in her election loss in 2016? Perhaps. What certainly does matter is the general tone of the Democrat Party, namely, a tone that is tone deaf in terms of the average working man and woman across America today.

The party of the working man and woman has historically been the Democrat Party for nearly 100 years. Labor unions were known as the bastion for the Democrat Party. It wasn’t just the union bosses who voted Democrat. Most of the workers followed suit. Today, the average working man and woman across most of America feels that the Democrat Party is the party that is out of touch with the working man and woman.

One of the reasons why the immigration policies of the Democrat Party are so bothersome to so many is the crime that grows proportionately with the rate of illegal immigration. But another reason is that so many working class families feel as if their neighborhoods are no longer safe havens and their jobs are no longer easy-to-hold jobs as the flood of illegal workers makes them more expendable.

But more than all of these is the arrogant attitudes that so many feel from the Democrat Party. One can argue rather convincingly that the most impressive trait of Donald Trump is his being a billionaire that connects with the people on Main St. This is not because Trump is a rags to riches story. He was born into a rather wealthy family and never experienced major finanical hardship. He has experienced some major financial ups and downs, but never hardship. But as a successful businessman with many decades of experience who has always been very connected to his employees and management, he understands well what matters most to people. Most of all, he understands from them what runaway inflation means to their cost of living and quality of life.

No matter how many times Kamala Harris says that she was raised in a middle class family, she will not convince voters that she or the Democrat Party truly understands their concerns about the economy. The economy has been tanking under Democrat leadership, and only people with a large stock portfolio are doing well. Nearly everybody else is hurting.

That will probably be the main reason that Donald Trump will get reelected. James Carville was right in 1992 and it is as relevant then as it is today – the economy is what matters to the average American, and most people see Donald Trump as a better choice than Kamala Harris to fix it.
