WhatsappThe riots on Capitol Hill will undoubtedly reverberate across the world for many decades to come. The protest before the riot is not the controversial side of what occurred. The issue is not even the fact that the riots occurred. It is the fact that the rioters made it into the very seat of the Congress and Senate and brought the government to a standstill for a few hours. But moreover, it is the fact that so many people in America today, according to many reports, a majority of America, believe that the electoral system is filled with fraudulent activity.
Did something happen in the 2020 elections that did not occur beforehand? Perhaps. But more probably, what happened in 2020 happened in 2016 also. But in 2020, the system of “adjusting” election results was perfected to focus on the key counties in the key battleground states where adjustments were more easy to implement. This is the reason that so many of the left-wing news outlets insist mercilessly that there were absolutely no fraudulent practices. The stakes are too high. Even if a majority of the Republican legislators believe that we should accept the results of the 2020 election, that doesn’t mean that they necessarily believe that widespread fraud did not exist. Even if the fraud lawsuits that were brought were not legislated before January 20th, 2021, that does not mean that future proof will not bring to light fraudulent practices that pervaded the election process.
The Republican Party would be making a terrible mistake if it did not pursue major electoral reform in the coming years. Until 2022, they probably will not get very far. But in 2022, there are pretty good chances that Congress will flip. Historically, this has happened many times to incumbent Presidents who begin their term with Congress and the Senate on their side. If electoral reform is the #1 issue, angry Republicans will come out in the masses in order to save the Republic. The stakes are indeed high.
