It doesn’t start in the hallway of schools across America. And it is not like the hatred of racism towards minorities. It is a unique hatred that is filled with every possible contradiction. It is a hatred of Jews for dominating everything and for being downtrodden. It is a hatred of Jews for being too capitalistic and for being too socialist. It is a hatred for Jews being colonialists and for Jews not having their own Land. It is a hatred that drives usually logical people off the cliff and beyond reason.
There are hundreds of millions of people in the world who have not gotten used to the fact that the modern Jew in Israel hits back and hits back hard. It takes time to make peace with new realities. But this one is here to stay.
The Jews of the Land of Israel are a different Jew than the Jew of the exile. He does not turn the other cheek, but more importantly, he does not cower in fear. He stands up with pride to defend the Land, the People, and the religion of the Jewish people. And most importantly, he is willing to sacrifice – in order to succeed.
Why? Because he and she believe in the One above. Therefore, he and she believe that they are in the right and the haters are wrong.
