Yahya Mohamed, a 21-year-old Israeli Arab Muslim from Umm al-Fahm, shared his inspiring journey of enlisting in the IDF. Initially raised with hostility toward Israel, he grew to love his country and voluntarily joined a combat unit in the Nachal Infantry Brigade. Despite concerns about acceptance due to his Muslim background, Yahya was warmly welcomed and respected by his peers.

Since October 7th, accusations against Israel, including claims of it being an apartheid state, have intensified. Yahya’s story directly refutes these narratives. His role as an Arab Muslim in the IDF highlights the diversity and inclusivity of Israeli society, where individuals from all backgrounds contribute meaningfully.

The fact has always been and remains that the best place for an Arab in the Middle East is the State of Israel. They can and have served in the army, become Supreme Court Judges, and be elected into the Knesset. Israel is the only democracy in a sea of dictatorship all around her in the Middle East.
