Royalty

King David was a unique King. He is well known for conquering the city of Jerusalem and taking the Ark of the Covenant into the city. Additionally, David is also known for writing the Book of Psalms. Solomon was the son of King David and appointed King before King David passed away.

King Solomon using the wealth he had built the magnificent first Temple in the city of Jerusalem, on today’s Temple Mount. He is also known as Solomon the Wise, many came from all over to ask him questions.

Archaeology

I am truly fascinated by all these artifacts that have been found in the City of David in Jerusalem. It’s like watching the text from the Bible come alive. Furthermore, it really is amazing what archaeologists have found digging in the City of David.

Written in the Bible it says “And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided victuals for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year.“. More importantly, the artifacts prove this. Seals from court officials have been found, large jars with inscriptions from the king have been found. This just shows that there was a palace there! With technology, they have been able to date all of this back to the time of the Bible.

Finally, in addition to these findings, it is said that a thick wall has been found. This can only mean a fortress of some kind. Jerusalem was a special city, King Solomon wanted to protect it, to do this he built a fortress. A big thick wall around the city to help.
