Eizenkot Thinks the Americans Are Stupid—But Washington Knows the Truth

Gadi Eizenkot apparently thinks the Americans are stupid and Israelis have amnesia.

Today, Eizenkot promised that within 18 months of becoming prime minister, Hamas would no longer rule Gaza and its military wing would be destroyed. He then blamed Netanyahu for Hamas still being in power.

There is just one problem: Washington knows what happened during this war, as do those Israelis who don’t watch channels 11, 12 and 13 for their news.

The Americans were in the war room. They know which Israeli leaders pushed for continuing the war and which pushed for ending it. They know Eizenkot advocated stopping the fighting before destroying Hamas in Rafah. They know the positions he took for Israel to literally surrender in order to make a deal with Hamas to free the hostages. They know that he supported an international agreement with Lebanon after the beeper operation, that would have allowed Hezbollah and Nasrallah to remain alive and powerful. This is all public information, mostly even recorded in video interviews with the press! And the Americans also know that he left the unity war government because Netanyahu refused to accept Eizenkot’s terms of surrender to Hamas, that would have left Hamas standing.

Now Eizenkot wants everyone to forget all of that and believe that he is the leader who will destroy Hamas???

He trusts the Israeli mainstream media to rewrite history so that Israelis will vote for him believing these lies, but the Americans on both sides of the aisle know the truth.

Even more absurdly, what government would supposedly carry this out?

Likud’s response exposed the contradiction perfectly: How exactly will Eizenkot destroy Hamas if his government depends upon the anti-Israel Arab parties led by Mansour Abbas and Ahmad Tibi? Bennet and Lapid’s government that included the anti-Israel Arab parties had to cancel JNF tree planting in the Negev! No way could they have gone on a military offensive in Gaza!

Ofer Winter, who served under Eizenkot for years, highlighted the deeper problem: Eizenkot represents the very security doctrine of containment, appeasement and accommodation that catastrophically failed Israel.

This matters beyond domestic politics.

The Trump administration respects strength and credibility. American officials know Israel’s wartime decision-making far better than Eizenkot apparently thinks they do.

A prime minister who rewrites his own record for political convenience won’t make Israel stronger in Washington. He will make Israel look weaker and be treated like a doormat by world leaders.

Israel needs a Prime Minister our enemies fear, our allies respect and, most importantly, whose own people can trust.

Eizenkot’s latest statement demonstrates why he is not that leader.

Strengthen your faith in God. Share these truths. If you are in Israel, then get out the vote.

Our future is bright even with road bumps on the way.

Am Yisrael Chai!!!
