Caroline Glick’s Spot-On Interview About Hamas

We won. They lost. It is not that simple. But it is the truth. Hamas, through it’s backers, Iran and Qatar, began a war to sow destruction on the State of Israel. They won Day 1. They lost every day after that and the entire Middle East has been transformed. The Middle East is no island of tranquility and there is no peace treaty with Arab countries at the end of this war.

But there is an Iran that has been stripped of all of it’s air defense capabilities and most of it’s offensive capabilities. A Lebanon that is no longer held hostage by it’s Hizbullah terror group in it’s South. Israel’s north is no longer living under the terror umbrella of Hizbullah’s 100,000+ missiles pointing at it. And Syria has crippled into itself and lost the strategic part of Mount Hermon that dominates Syria and Lebanon. This is perhaps the most strategic detail that has been underrated about the war of the last two years. It enables Israel to cut all delivery of weapons to Hizbullah from Iran or Syria, ensuring Israel’s north will live at peace for many years to come.

Perhaps even more important than anything else, the citizens of the State of Israel have proven to themselves and the world that the Israeli Army knows how to fight like lions and to kill the enemy, even if it takes years to accomplish. The leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu throughout the war has been truly startling. He endured the need to replace much of his military brass, a Defense Minister, and the head of the Secret Service, all while leading the charge to defeat Israel’s enemies on multiple fronts. All of this while balancing dealing with two American Presidents.

The history books will debate who was responsible for allowing Israel to be so surprised on October 7th. Prime Minister Netanyahu is obviously one of the reasons for Israel’s failure to be properly prepared. But when judging his performance from October 7th at night and onward, he will unquestionably be viewed as the leader who took Israel from it’s lowest moment to a new level of security and advancement in the coming years.

The United States may be the leader of the free world, but the moral leader of the free world is in many ways Benjamin Netanyahu. All of this was due to the bravery of the young Israeli soldiers who put the welfare of the nation of Israel above their own natural impulses to tend to their own personal wants and needs.
