Under the Southern Command’s leadership, Divisions 98 and 162 launched operations in Gaza City as part of Operation Gideon’s Chariots II, focusing on neutralizing terrorists and dismantling military infrastructure used by terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip.
On Monday, the IDF struck a Hamas weapons production facility in Gaza City. At the time, terrorists were actively manufacturing charges intended to target IDF forces. The strike triggered secondary explosions, confirming the presence of weapons in the facility.
Over the past two days, the Air Force and Artillery Corps have hit over 150 terrorist targets across Gaza City, providing support to ground forces operating in the area.
Hundreds of thousands of Gazans have already evacuated Gaza City, with hundreds of thousands more still there. The IDF expects the battle over Gaza City to take two months followed by a period of time focused on cleaning up the terror infrastructure in the the area.
