After multiple ballistic missile attacks in the last few days, Israel finally decided to attack the Houthis directly.

The IDF released the following statement:

The IDF attacked terrorist targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, Al-Salif and the Ras Qantib power plant

Air Force fighter jets attacked and destroyed, under intelligence guidance from the Intelligence and Navy, terrorist infrastructures of the Houthi terrorist regime. Among the terrorist infrastructures that were attacked were the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa and Al-Salif.

These ports are used by the Houthi terrorist regime to transfer weapons of the Iranian regime that are used to carry out terrorist plots against the State of Israel and its allies.

The attack was carried out in light of repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel, its citizens and civilian infrastructure in the country, including the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles and surface-to-surface missiles towards the territory of the State of Israel.

The Houthi terrorist regime exploits maritime space for the exercise of force and terrorist activity against transit and trade ships in global shipping.
The targets attacked illustrate the military use of civilian infrastructure by the Houthi terrorist regime for terrorist purposes.

Among the terrorist targets attacked in the port of Ras Issa, the merchant ship “GALAXY LEADER” was attacked, which the Houthi terrorist regime took control of in November 2023.
The Houthi terrorist regime forces installed a radar system on the ship, and are using it to track vessels in international maritime space, in order to promote the activities of the Houthi terrorist regime.

In addition, the Ras Qantib power plant was attacked, which served the Houthi terrorist regime as a significant electricity supply infrastructure for military activity, and constitutes another example of the Houthi terrorist regime’s use of civilian infrastructure.

The Houthi terrorist regime serves as a central branch of the Iranian regime and in doing so receives funding and weapons for its operations. The Houthi terrorist regime is a partner in Iranian terrorist activity worldwide.

The IDF is determined to continue to act and strongly strike any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel, at any distance required.
