Should Israel nuke Gaza? Yes, there are some who think that is the solution. To say the least, that is an extermely controversial option. Therefore, it is probably not on the table. But what Israel should absolutely be doing as this man claimed is to have one goal – unconditional surrender of their enemy. There is no other way to deal with kamikaze bombers in Japan or bloodthirsty Arabs in Gaza.
The only way to deal with primitive terrorists who are willing to commit suicide in order to kill as many Jews as possible is to be ruthless. The decision to drop two bombs on Japan was super controversial. But Harry Truman saw it very simply. Either hundreds of thousands of US GI’s would lose their lives fighting against Japan or tens of thousands of Japanese would. It was a ruthless decision, but it was the right decision. Japan would never present itself as a threat to the West, and it was because of Truman’s brave decision.
Israel has not made it clear that it’s goal is unconditional surrender of the Hamas in Gaza. They have made it clear that total defeat of Hamas is one of the gaols. But it should be beyond that. The goal should be decades of calm following the end of this war – not a few years. The same should go for Iran. Within the next few years, we will know if the US and Israel brought Iran to it’s knees or just bruised them heavily. If Iran hits back in the coming few years, it was not sufficiently weakened. If Iran becomes the 21st century version of Cuba, then it was a success.
Even if Gaza should not be obliterated, Israel should take over 100% of Gaza. No other solution will sufficiently weaken those who intend to terrorize Israel in the future. The Arabs are jealous of Israel. They need to become scared of Israel. That has not yet been accomplished. The Jewish people are here to stay.
