The story of Jewish survival is one of resilience and strength. In the darkest times, we can still choose life. And that is Kay Wilson’s story.
Kay Wilson – Terror Survivor
Kay Wilson and her friend were attacked by Palestinian Arab terrorists. They viciously savaged the two innocent women. Wilson’s friend, Kristine Luken, tragically did not make it out alive. Miraculously, Kay did. Her seconds, minutes, days, weeks, months, and years would forever be changed. But she still chose life. And that is what the Jewish people have done since the beginning of time.
No one can explain how the Jewish people have survived throughout the centuries. Persecution, pogroms, oppression, the Holocaust – Jewish survival should have been impossible. But God controls the world. And He has given His people the strength to continue on even when it seems impossible. It is not easy to choose life. But it is most definitely worth it. The nation of Israel has chosen and chooses life.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Wilson talks about how the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” was the last song that she listened to with her friend. It then meant something deeper to her as she struggled to survive the terrible attack. The fact that she was able to play it for the world at the AIPAC Conference and still likes the song is really amazing if you think about it. She did not allow the song to represent death. She used it to represent life. And that is just inspiring.
