This is not a matter of if shutdown and COVID rules are right or wrong. This is a matter of hypocrisy from government reps.
The COVID Rules and Hypocrisy
Everyone has his or her own opinion about whether or not having lockdowns and shutting down businesses temporarily is the answer to fighting Coronavirus. Every country or state has its own set of COVID rules. The issue at hand is not really the fact that state and city governments have created a set of rules to follow. The problem is the hypocrisy of the implementation. Forcing restaurants to close or not to have dining in but then approving movie companies to set up an entire event next to a small restaurant’s outdoor patio is wrong. Not giving money to help these small business owners and using the money for political endeavors instead is wrong.
Again, some think that the COVID rules are not the way to deal with the virus. That is not what this is about. This is about the hypocrisy of government representatives. Many of the reps themselves have even gone against the rules they said others must keep. They have gotten haircuts, dined in, held family gatherings – all when they told others not to. And the apologies after do not help.
It is time the hypocritical norm of so many politicians stops.
