“The soft bigotry of low expectations.” That is an excellent way of putting it that Bill Maher uses when describing how so many overlook and justify the aspects of the Muslim religion that are so frightening. The difference between Israel and so many other Western countries is that Israel has known this and been grappling with this for many decades, and even before the beginning of the State of Israel.

There is indeed hope for the world where hundreds of millions of Muslims live. But it will not be in the situation where the Muslims are the dominant religion. If that would be the case, the Western world would find itself facing one of the most ruthless regimes in the history of mankind.
As Marco Rubio aptly put it, there is a battle of civilizations that is afoot. And the United States and Israel are on the same side. Even the American Firsters who are mistakenly isolationist ought to understand this. It is just a question of time till the militant side of radical Islam will explode and attack in the faces of Westerners. Today is an age of intercontinental ballistic missiles.
So the question is how to confront the threats - not whether or not to confront them. Bill Maher, a sane liberal, understands this and makes the progressives of the world squirm with the truth. But we all know that what he is saying is logical, true, and must not be ignored.
