It’s hard to swallow what these American companies did to help Hitler during WWII. But we cannot skip over this part of history.
The Shameful Past of Some American Companies
This is a fascinating video. It is important to learn about the past. Although many people know many facts and have learned about what happened during the Holocaust, there are many details they might not know about. And this part of U.S. history from WWII about the American companies who aided Hitler (albeit in different ways) is one of those pieces of history that not everyone knows.
As mentioned in the video, some of the heads of these companies were outright antisemitic, and some were driven by money. But even those who do something wrong because of greed as oppose to hatred are still guilty. Intentions matter, but not always. When the end result is helping Hitler, does it really matter the reason for doing it? It is terrifying how far people will go for money and because of hatred.
Although people might want to brush over certain parts of history, we can never do that. If we skip over the parts of history that aren’t as pretty, how can we be better moving forward?
As the end of the video mentions, we must learn from the mistakes in history. We can improve moving forward, even though we cannot change the past – on the national level as well as on a personal level. We can be better as a nation, as a society, and as individuals.
