This is no longer a reality anymore due to the effects of the Coronavirus. One of the prayers this New Year is that we will be able to return to a time when we are able to have mass gatherings again like this at the Holiest places for the Jewish people. The Temple Mount and it’s adjacent Western Wall have been places where Jewish worship has taken place on a national level for more than 3,000 years – all the way back to the time of King David.
The selichot prayers the last night before the holiday of Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year. Oh how we yearn for the day when we will be able to have a mass prayer like this again.
