WhatsappIsrael has eliminated another senior Hamas commander directly responsible for the October 7 massacre, reinforcing a clear strategic message: every terrorist who planned, led, or carried out the invasion of southern Israel remains a target, no matter how much time has passed.
The IDF and Shin Bet announced that an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City over the weekend killed Adham Ibrahim Shaaban Nasman, Hamas’s chief of operations for the Gaza City Brigade. His elimination removes one of the organization’s most experienced operational commanders and another key figure tied directly to the atrocities of October 7.
According to the IDF, Nasman commanded Hamas forces that infiltrated Israel during the October 7 invasion as commander of a Nukhba force battalion. Those elite assault units spearheaded the cross-border attack that murdered civilians, destroyed communities, and kidnapped hundreds of Israelis into Gaza.
His crimes did not end on October 7.
Throughout the war, Nasman reportedly played a central role in holding numerous Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity, including Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrest, and Omri Miran. His involvement in both the massacre and the hostage enterprise made him one of Hamas’s highest-value operational targets.
Nasman also previously served as intelligence officer for Hamas’s Gaza City Brigade and commander of the Shati Battalion, positions from which he directed numerous attacks against Israeli soldiers over the years.
Perhaps most significantly, Israeli intelligence determined that Nasman had recently been working to rebuild Hamas’s military infrastructure. Despite the ceasefire framework, he was recruiting and training new terrorists while expanding weapons production and distribution throughout Gaza.
His elimination reflects Israel’s broader strategy in Gaza: preventing Hamas from regenerating its military capabilities while systematically removing the commanders responsible for both past atrocities and future threats.
The message from Israel remains consistent. The October 7 war is not over until Hamas can no longer rebuild, rearm, or threaten Israeli civilians again. Every senior terrorist involved in that attack remains on borrowed time.
