The country’s counter-terror actions constitute an “international achievement,” says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

(JNS) Israeli security forces arrested seven wanted terrorists throughout Judea and Samaria overnight Sunday.

Six of the suspects were arrested during an operation carried out in the villages of Ya’bad, Bruqinin and Dora, the city of Bethlehem and in the Al Ayida refugee camp, and one was apprehended in the village of Hizma.

During an operation in the village of Mahfiya, suspects shot and threw stones at the Israeli forces, who responded with riot dispersal measures, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

Israeli forces were also stoned in the Jalazone refugee camp, and gunfire was heard in the area, according to the IDF.

No Israeli casualties were reported.

On Saturday, Israeli forces killed two terrorists who were involved in a shooting near the town of Avnei Hefetz in Samaria on May 2.

The terrorists, identified as Hamza Hariush and Samer Shafi, were shot dead during an exchange of fire during which an Israeli citizen was injured and vehicles were damaged. Two additional terror suspects were arrested in connection with the May 2 attack, both residents of Tulkarm.

On May 4, Israeli forces killed the Palestinian terrorists who last month murdered three members of the Dee family in the Jordan Valley. Lucy Dee, 48, and daughters Maia, 20, and Rina, 15, were killed in an April 7 shooting on the Route 57 highway near the Hamra Junction.

The terrorists, identified as Hamas members Hassan Katnani and Muad Masri, were shot dead in an exchange of fire after Israeli forces surrounded their hideout in Nablus’s Kasbah (Old City). Ibrahim Hura, identified by the IDF as a collaborator with the Hamas terrorists, was also killed in the raid.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday hailed his government’s efforts to combat Palestinian terrorism, describing them as an “international achievement.”

“Since the start of the year, we have thwarted and arrested over 110 terrorists, a record number,” Netanyahu continued. “These counter-terrorist actions entail complex operations, including entering the hearts of cities, while minimizing casualties among our forces and noncombatants—and indeed, 90% of casualties on the Palestinian side are terrorists.

“I would like to emphasize to the members of the government: This is an international achievement,” said the premier, adding, “It is doubtful if any other military and security forces would be capable of achieving the same result in combat areas that are saturated with civilians, but our forces are doing so, and they truly deserve all praise and respect.

“Every terrorist knows that he will pay a price. The long arm of Israel will find anyone who tries to harm our citizens,” said Netanyahu.
