I’m so blessed to be surrounded by amazing people doing amazing things for the people of Israel, the Land of Israel and the world.

Nadia Matar & Yehudit Katsover are two examples.

These two women literally spearheaded the movement to transform the concept of Israeli sovereignty over Judea & Samaria from a fringe, unrealistic idea into a mainstream concept today accepted by many Israeli politicians.

Part of their magic is the sovereignty youth movement they developed and nurtured. What started with just a handful of idealistic Jewish teenagers is today a full blown movement with an annual conference. This year, close to 1,000 teenagers participated in the fifth annual youth sovereignty conference which focused on sovereignty in the Jordan valley.

As proof of how mainstream the concept is today, they played a video clip of Prime Minister Netanyahu from a few years ago announcing his intention to apply sovereignty in the Jordan valley. While, unfortunately, PM Netanyahu still has not acted upon that promise, I’m 100% certain that day will come. And I am blessed to know some of the key people and events that spearheaded the movement to finally make that dream into a reality.

Regardless when we finally apply physical sovereignty, the most important achievement of Nadia & Yehudit is helping develop a generation of Israeli youth with the proud and healthy spiritual Jewish sovereignty, free from the low-self-esteem of being Jews in a very non-Jewish world.

These youth are part of the process of the Jewish people reclaiming our natural Jewish identity, here in our ancestral homeland, and role in leading humanity to redemptive times!

As Nadia Matar, co-founder of the Soveriengty movement, herself posted about the convention:

“It was a moving and inspiring mega- convention.”

“It was thank G-d amazing!”

“Close to 1000 youths from all over the country came to the Sovereignty Youth convention to say loud and clear: the Land of Israel belongs to the People of Israel and we must apply sovereignty over it, starting with sovereignty over the Jordan Valley first.”

“It was uplifting. There was powerful and amazing energy in the air.”

Nadia Matar said the following powerful words in an interview about the convention:

“These are youths who are not hooked to Facebook, but they know how to use Facebook and social media to pass on the message of our right to the land of Israel. It used to be that you take a hammer or you take a donkey and you build communities, and we have to continue to build communities, but we have learned the hard way that it’s not enough,” said Matar. “In Gush Katif, the communities were destroyed in six days. And therefore, in order to protect the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, we need to apply sovereignty over it, because sovereignty means: This is ours.”

“The moment the State of Israel doesn’t apply sovereignty, it basically says ‘I’m not sure it’s mine’, and therefore no matter how many communities we create, the next step is sovereignty. We will start with the Jordan Valley. The Jordan Valley is 30% of Judea and Samaria, it has no demographic problem, and therefore, it is the first step. We can do it with this government, which is a right-wing government, and together, youths and adults together, we will do and we will succeed.”

Yehudit Katzover welcomed the participants to the conference with the following inspiring message:

“We are overjoyed to see the amazing youth who are participating and say: ‘The Land of Israel – we love you, we will protect you.”

“What touched me the most, I had tears in my eyes, was when I saw the Neve Dekalim Ulpana in attendance. The reason we established the Sovereignty Movement was to prevent a recurrence of the expulsion from Gush Katif and the expulsion from northern Samaria. Sovereignty will protect the Land of Israel, it will protect the settlement enterprise. Sovereignty will provide another legal and political authorization. With God’s help, as was the case in the Golan Heights and Jerusalem, the world did not go upside down and nothing happened.”

“We are starting with the Jordan Valley. This is the eastern wall of the State of Israel and it must be strong. There is a broad consensus regarding the Jordan Valley. It is not an issue of Right and Left, it is clear to everyone that we must be there. Gantz also spoke about it at the time, the Prime Minister spoke about it, and opposition MKs proposed legislation on this issue. The Jordan Valley will be, with God’s help, under Israeli sovereignty, it’s only a matter of time. Of course, we are not relinquishing Judea and Samaria, but we are taking one step forward because the chance is greater in the Jordan Valley,” Katsover said.

In attendance was the head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, David Elhiani, who told the audience: “Applying Sovereignty in the Jordan Valley first is a national and existential interest. I believe that applying Sovereignty will protect the State of Israel not only from a security perspective, and not only from a settlement perspective but also from an existential perspective. I call on the Prime Minister and the government: this is a fully right-wing government. This is a historic moment. Raise the banner and apply sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.”

In addition, a number of politicians spoke or sent in pre-recorded videos with messages of support for the youth, their activism and the eventual application of sovereignty in the Jordan Valley, first, to then be followed for all of Judea & Samaria.
