Young Jewish Girl Shows the Strength of the Jewish Nation
What an incredible story. Especially at such a young age, it would be understandable if Eliya was afraid after the Bondi Beach massacre. But instead of trying to hide her Judaism, she wanted to show it proudly—literally right after. She wanted to go home and light the menorah for Chanukah. She wanted to go home and show everyone what it means to be a Jew. When we are struck by tragedy, the answer is always to turn to G-d.
The Jewish nation has been persecuted and massacred century after century. Different countries, religions, and groups have tried to obliterate us. And we should have been destroyed. But G-d has always kept His promise that we are His people. And we will never be destroyed. We are still proud Jews. We are proud to be G-d’s chosen people.
The Jewish people’s enemies still haven’t woken up to the truth after thousands of years. They keep trying to break us, but we can never be broken. We might have some downfalls. We might feel pain. But broken as an entire nation? Never. We survived the brutal, devastating slavery in Egypt. We survived our holy Temples being burned and destroyed. The Jewish people survived exile after exile, persecution after persecution. We survived the Holocaust. We survived Oct. 7. It’s time for our enemies to learn: Stop messing with G-d’s people.
