This battle for Kfar Etzion ended with tragedy. But it showed how dedicated and committed the Jewish people are to G-d’s land.

The Bloody Battle for Kfar Etzion

The entirety of the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people. Despite the fact that the world calls Judea and Samaria “The West Bank,” it indeed is G-d given Jewish land. It is not Arab land. It is not “Palestinian” land given the fact that the “Palestinian” people are a made-up nation. The battle for Kfar Etzion in 1948 was tragic and bloody. It didn’t have the ending that the Jewish people were hoping and praying for.

But the world needs to realize that the Jewish people literally give their lives for the land of Israel. They don’t just surrender and give up. Every inch is holy. Every inch is from G-d. The One Above has given a heroic strength to those who go out and defend His land. It is inspiring learning about those who gave everything for Israel—decades ago and today.

Thank G-d today, Kfar Etzion is in Jewish hands. And the Jews who live there know how special this part of the land is. We must always remember the history of this part of Judea and Samaria. Although it was a painful part of the history of the modern state of Israel, we must remember how we got to where we are today. And we must remember those who sacrificed their lives to try to hold on to Kfar Etzion in 1948.
