Of course, fending off the attacks is part of it. But that should not be more than 20% of what the pro-Israel advocates do. The key is not to defend, but to speak with pride about one thing and one thing only – the truth. Nothing wins out over time more than the truth. All of the rest becomes noise in the background. But to get the truth out, one needs to control the narrative. That cannot happen if one spends all of their time defending. Sometimes, it is simply wiser to ignore the attacks and simply go on the offensive. That will push back and defend better than the best lines of defense.
The anti-Israel haters know the trick about controlling the narrative by flooding the airwaves. Donald Trump uses this tactic too. It is very effective. But ultimately, the lies boomerang – if there are enough brave people willing to stand up and say the truth again and again. That is why the daily fight is so critical in the battle for Israel’s image. One powerful video is not as valuable as 20 mediocre videos that are all spreading the truth far and wide on a day-in and day-out level.
Israel will always be the David fighting the Goliath in world opinion as there are literally tens of millions of Jew-haters funded by billions of dollars from Iran, Qatar, and elsewhere who are fighting to tarnish Israel’s image. But the start-up nation can battle back with being the start-up nation on spreading the truth. That is the key to winning the war of world opinion.
