WhatsappOn Sunday afternoon, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on the Houthi-controlled Yemeni capital, targeting the Presidential Palace, a city power station, and fuel storage facilities.
Yemeni sources report that over 30 bombs were dropped in a 10-minute assault, hitting a petroleum derivatives warehouse, the Haziz Central Power Station, and an Oil Company station. The attack resulted in at least two deaths and five injuries.
The strikes were a retaliation for a ballistic missile, armed with a cluster bomb warhead, launched by the Iranian-backed Houthis at central Israel. Despite interception attempts, the missile released its payload, with one cluster bomb causing minor damage to a home in Ginaton. Iran had used similar missiles against Israel during the 12-day war in June.
Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the mission, led by IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir and IAF Commander Tomer Bar, stating that the Houthi regime is paying a “heavy price” for its aggression. He emphasized Israel’s resolve, saying, “Whoever attacks us – we attack them. Whoever plans to attack us – we attack them.” All Israeli aircraft and personnel returned safely.
